Cholesterol Free Cooking Demonstration

God wants good things for His children and that includes good health. Knowledge is power, especially when it comes to your health choices.  In the spring we offer a two-night meeting about cholesterol.  Presented by church member and Pomerene physician, Dr. Eva Ryckman, she talks about where cholesterol comes from, why too much is bad for your body, and what food are naturally cholesterol free.  She uses recipes and cooking demonstrations (with food samples!) to illustrate how you can make simple changes to your food choices that can result in profound health improvements.  We want to help our community know how they can take easy steps to protect their own health.  The meeting is held at the Holmes County Public Library. Food Pantry Contributions

In both the Old and the New Testament we are called upon to share our blessings with those less fortunate.  When the Lord shares His blessings with us, what better way to express our gratitude to Him than to share it with others.  For this reason the Millersburg SDA church members bring non-perishable food to church and once a month the collection is taken to the Love Center Food Pantry.

At Christmas time we participate in Share-A-Christmas by fulfilling the requested number of items we are asked to collect.

In August 2018 we began hosting the “Millersburg Food Run 10K/5K and 1-mile” fundraiser.  The proceeds are donated to the Love Center Food Pantry.    We look forward this event every year, which the whole community can participate in.  We are very excited about impact this fundraiser has and prayerfully entreat the Lord for guidance in this ministry.
